Understanding Dementia
This one day course offers an introduction to the
behaviours associated with dementing type illnesses. |
Objectives:

To understand the causes of dementia, to
have knowledge of the different types of dementia, to
understand the effects, of the illness
from family and friends point of view, to understand the
impact environment and communication style may have on
an older adult with dementia, to
have strategies for coping with challenging behaviour,
e.g. wandering repetition, anxiety, confusion. |
